Workshop on “Numerical Simulation of Tropical Storms and Storm Surge AND Coastal Communities Vulnerability and Resilience under Climate Change in Thailand”
From April 22 to 24, 2025, Arikawa Lab joined with Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), GISTDA (Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency, Thailand), and Prince of Songkla University (Thailand) to hold a joint workshop at the GISTDA Training Center in Bangkok. The workshop had two primary objectives:
-
Knowledge transfer – to provide Thai researchers and scientists with fundamental instruction and hands-on exercises in numerical simulation of tropical storms, storm surge, and waves.
-
Network building – to establish a collaborative research network in coastal studies, bringing together scientists, experts, and stakeholders to explore future joint research opportunities.
Hands-on Sessions (April 22–23)
